"The Garage" as it has become known to many Kenpoists who know Mr. Dye or who have visited it, is located in Covina, CA. It is about 25 miles east of Los Angeles and about 13 miles east of Mr. Parker's legendary Pasadena Studio. Mr. Dye has been teaching out of "the Garage" for 26 years. He carries a student base of between 20 and 30 students. Most of the students become very close friends of his and of his wife Patty who is also a Black Belt under Mr. Dye. The classes are taught in group format with complimenting personal instuction added. All of Mr. Dye's Black Belts assist in the teaching regiment and have full input into instructing the curriculum. Mr. Parker's Kenpo is taught with an emphasis on Basic Principles, Forms, Techniques and Freestyle / Sparring. "The Garage" has a family- type atmosphere, but all of the traditions that were taught to Mr. Dye are passed on to the students, adults and children alike.
"The Garage" has had some of the finest Kenpoists visit its walls - Mr. Hebler, Mr. Jim Thompson, Mr. Trejo, Mr. Autry, Mr. Cornejo, Mr. Speakman, Mr. Rainey, Mr. Durgan, Mr. Dave Thompson, Mr. Collado, Mr. Cappi and other fine kenpoists.
